On Thursday 22 February 2024, at Lephepane Village under Greater Tzaneen Municipality Ward 34 under Mr Eric Ralephelle, many Youth and Old women flock to the SASSA building to be hired as water and Sanitation contractors and labourers.

The Eye News managed to be part of the proceedings as the Eyes and Ears of the community.  In the morning a group led by former Councillor who lost votes to Mr Eric Ralephelle approached the facilitators to have equal numbers of the Steering Committee members.

Mr Marakalla representatives of the Executive Mayor of Mopani District Mr Pule Shai and Mr Monyela from Greater Tzaneen Municipality including representatives of the Batlhabine Traditional Authority office refuse to hear their request as the matter was resolved at the Tribal Authority on Monday to say that everyone under the Batlhabine community is the member in good standing to be elected on the Steering committee in a fair manner and everybody must come to elected without fear as we are one community said representatives of the Tribal Authority Mr Abel Mogoboya.

Then the nominations begun with more Women elected as Steering committee members.  Ms Portia Rasekhoka from Maphoofolo Village , Lephepane  one of the person elected said, “ we drinks water with animals now  water tankers are not coming to our community, the project is good and it will bring water to our community”.

On the other hand the other group although nominated to be on the Steering Committee but never succeed with the number of votes received.

Mr Mapaila Walter Lephepane Village tried his luck by choosing a No paper in which he never succeeds to get a job, he said “I was looking to get a job, I am serious and I hope to get it”

Luckly Ms Irene Malatji from Rasebalane village was in tears to get a Yes paper, she never believe her happiness to get a job.
