Limpopo Legislature conducted hearing on new electricity bill at Lenyenye Community Hall on Wednesday 24 April 2024.04.24
The hall was parked with people from as far as Phalaborwa, It started by the Department of Mineral Resources presentations and later community participates in accepting the bill.
Many filled their forms to support the bill in which it opens up for bundling of electricity generation, Transmission and distribution including proper administration of such by a regulator. In fact it allow market generation which means allow access to grid by all other interested generators of electricity like renewable energy sources.
It was well supported as it will end load shedding and allow competition to the energy mix. A company of SOC was proposed to be a vehicle for such development. According to the community a transitional period must allow renewable energy to feed in to the grid says Maboyi Nkwashu
